Mr.  Aaron Melendrez (Coles, Neat Bar), our bar manager, is the mind behind an exciting arrray of innovative drinks that takes its cue from South American fruits, spices and hand crafted spirits.

From our elote to our pescada frita, we certainly have a lot to be prideful of. Our food menu is crafted to suit the highly discerning palate of LA natives while respecting and maintaining the authenticity of latin american flavors. The food menu, the cocktails, the wall art, and the music are all very personal and made with the intention of replicating the experiences of the people that dreamed EsCaLA into reality.

The EsCaLA restaurant and bar concept is the brainchild of Chef Chris Oh and Artist & Music Producer turned Entrepreneur OG Chino. EscaLA is set to introduce an unmistakably awe inducing food fare with strong influences from their respective Latin American and Korean roots.

Chris Oh

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Fresh from the resounding success of his culinary endeavors (Supreme Asian Chef Winner, Cutthroat Chef Winner, Knife Fight Winner, Food Truck Race Champion) Chris Oh is set to showcase his craft as the Executive Chef of EsCaLA. He created a menu that provided heavy doses of latin american inspired concoctions that is aimed at pleasing the local palate while staying true to what is authentically latin american. 

OG Chino

MASTERMIND

Chino, or OG Chino as most people call him wanted to create a business around enjoying great latin american cuisine under an environment that satiated the soul with good music and raw art. He wanted to bring to the streets of LA the food that he grew up eating as a child in Bogota. Chino aims to recreate the warmth and authenticity of the food, culture, and art through Escala.
